Teaching practice phase I week 7
Teaching Practice Phase I – Week 7 (September 8–12, 2025)
Introduction
The seventh week of our teaching practice at Government Higher Secondary School, Koickal, Kollam, was conducted from September 8 to September 12, 2025. By this stage, we had become fully adapted to the school environment, the classroom routines, and the students’ learning styles. This week mainly focused on completing our allotted portions and reinforcing the concepts taught in previous weeks.
Weekly Activities
During this week, each trainee continued teaching the concerned topics in their respective subjects and classes according to the timetable provided by the mentor teachers. Lesson plans were prepared and implemented effectively.
We also focused on using teaching aids and interactive strategies to make the lessons more engaging. Students participated actively in classroom discussions and activities. Feedback from our guide teachers helped us refine our presentation and classroom management skills.
In addition to classroom teaching, we also helped with routine school activities, maintaining discipline, and assisting students who needed additional academic support.
Reflection
This week was a period of steady progress and self-improvement. We became more confident and comfortable in handling classes independently. Our ability to manage time, evaluate student understanding, and adopt effective teaching strategies improved significantly.
Overall, Week 7 helped us strengthen our professional identity as teachers and reinforced the importance of continuous reflection and adaptability in the teaching-learning process.
