 Teaching Practice Phase I – Week 10 (September 29 – October 4, 2025)




Introduction


The tenth week marked the final phase of our first teaching practice session at Government Higher Secondary School, Koickal, Kollam. This week was short due to the Pooja holidays, with only three working days—September 29, October 3, and October 4, 2025. Despite the limited working days, we made effective use of the time to complete the remaining portions and finalize our records.



Weekly Activities (Sept 29 – Oct 4, 2025)


During this week, we continued to teach the concerned topics assigned to our respective subjects and classes. The students showed good understanding and active participation during the lessons. We also utilized this week to revise key concepts and clarify students’ doubts.


The Pooja holidays during the week provided a short break for both teachers and students, creating a refreshing atmosphere before the conclusion of our teaching practice.


On October 4, 2025 (Saturday), which was the final day of our teaching practice, we completed all formal procedures. We got our lesson plan records signed and sealed by the Headmaster, Mr. Gopakumar G. We also extended our heartfelt thanks to the Headmaster, mentor teachers, and staff members for their kind cooperation, constant guidance, and valuable feedback throughout the teaching practice period.


The day was filled with emotions of gratitude and accomplishment as we reflected on our ten weeks of valuable experience as teacher trainees.




Reflection


The tenth week was a meaningful conclusion to our teaching practice journey. Although it was a short working week, it gave us time to wrap up our responsibilities, ensure all records were complete, and express our gratitude to the school community.


The teaching practice period at Govt. HSS Koickal provided us with real classroom exposure, enhanced our teaching competence, and helped us grow as reflective practitioners. It was a memorable and transformative phase that strengthened our passion for teaching and commitment to the profession.

Teaching practice second phase week 3

 Teaching Practice – Week 3 (24–28 November 2025) During the third week of my second phase of teaching practice at Government HSS Koickal, Kollam, I continued to handle the classes assigned to me with greater confidence and clarity. As the school is moving closer to the examination period, there has been a noticeable sense of seriousness among students. Teachers, including myself, are giving special emphasis to revision, concept reinforcement, and focused study. Students are also showing a sincere attitude towards learning, making the classroom environment more productive and goal-oriented. A significant highlight of this week was on Thursday, 27th November, when I had the opportunity to take a special NMMS scholarship coaching class from 3:30 pm to 4:20 pm. Teaching practice second phase last week (week 7)

 Week 7 (27 january to 29 january 2026) Introduction   The seventh week marked the final week of my second phase of teaching practice at Government HSS Koickal. On 26th January 2026, the school celebrated Republic Day with great respect and patriotism. However, it was not a working day for the students. The celebration reminded everyone of the importance of the Constitution and the values of democracy, unity, and equality. On 27th and 28th January 2026, regular classes were conducted. I engaged the students in my subject as per the lesson plan and completed the planned portions. The classes were interactive, and I tried to ensure maximum participation from students.
