Teaching practice phase I week 8

 Teaching Practice Phase I – Week 8 (September 15–17, 2025)

Introduction

The eighth week of our first phase of teaching practice at Government Higher Secondary School, Koickal, Kollam, was held from September 15 to September 17, 2025. By this stage, we had become more comfortable with the school environment, teaching methods, and classroom management techniques. The week mainly focused on the effective transaction of the concerned topics in our assigned classes and on refining our teaching skills.

Weekly Activities

During this week, we continued with our regular teaching schedule, handling the lessons planned for our respective subjects. Each of us prepared our lesson plans carefully and used various teaching aids and teaching methods to make the classes engaging and interactive.

The students responded positively and showed a good level of understanding and participation in classroom discussions. We also conducted short assessments to evaluate their grasp of the concepts taught.

Our mentor teachers provided regular feedback, which helped us identify our strengths and areas that needed improvement. Through this, we enhanced our communication skills, classroom control, and confidence as teachers.

Reflection

The eighth week of teaching practice provided us with valuable opportunities to strengthen our instructional and classroom management abilities. As we moved closer to the end of the first phase, we felt more confident and responsible in our roles as teacher trainees.

This week reminded us that consistent preparation, patience, and reflection are key elements of effective teaching. Overall, it was a week of steady progress, meaningful learning, and professional growth.
