Teaching practice second phase week 1
Weekly Report: Second Phase Teaching Practice Week 1: 12 November 2025 (Wednesday) – 14 November 2025 (Friday)
Our second phase of teaching practice at Government HSS Koickal, Kollam, began on 12 November 2025 (Wednesday). This short but meaningful week gave us a variety of experiences both inside and outside the classroom.
12 November 2025 – Wednesday
The first day marked our return to the school environment with renewed enthusiasm. We met our concerned subject teachers and received our class allotments and timetables. We resumed our regular teaching practice by handling the lessons assigned to us. The students were cooperative and actively participated in classroom discussions. This day helped us smoothly adapt to the learning atmosphere of the school once again.
13 November 2025 – Thursday
On Thursday, we continued with our regular class sessions. We completed the planned portions and used activity-based strategies to make the lessons engaging. During the free hours, we helped teachers with classroom management and other academic responsibilities. Preparations for the upcoming Children’s Day celebration were also progressing in the school.
14 November 2025 – Friday – Children’s Day Celebration
Children’s Day, celebrated on 14 November, was the major event of the week. The school organised special assembly related to children's day with students from kindergarten section and lower primary dressed as chacha nehru and they sang a group song related to children's day, several speeches by students and teachers took place.Apart from the assembly conducted by the school,the trainees from our college, Fathima Memorial Training College, Pallimukku, Kollam, took the initiative to organise special programmes for the students.
We conducted:
Quiz Competition – Students from various classes actively participated, showcasing their general knowledge and enthusiasm.
Drawing Competition – Students expressed their creativity through colourful and meaningful drawings depicting the spirit of Children’s Day.
The celebration created a joyful atmosphere in the school. Teachers appreciated the effort taken by the trainees to make the event memorable for the students. Apart from the celebration, the regular classes continued smoothly and we completed the topics scheduled for the week.
