 Teaching Practice – Phase 2


Week 2: 17 to 21 November 2025



During the second week of my teaching practice at Govt. HSS Koickal, Kollam, I continued teaching the classes assigned to me. The week progressed smoothly with no major difficulties. I followed my lesson plans and delivered the topics according to the schedule. The students were attentive, cooperative, and actively participated in the classroom activities.


I was able to manage the class effectively and used simple teaching aids to make the concepts clearer. Interaction with the supervising teacher helped me refine my teaching approach, especially in giving clearer instructions and pacing the lesson according to the students’ understanding. Overall, the week was productive and encouraging, helping me gain more confidence in my role as a teacher.

I was also able to serve the mid day meal provided in the school.


Reflection


This week gave me deeper insight into my growth as a teacher. I realised that consistent preparation and calm classroom management make the teaching process smoother. I felt more confident in handling the class and responding to students' doubts. The smooth progress of the week showed me that when I build a good rapport with students, learning becomes more effective. I also understood the importance of flexibility adjusting my teaching methods based on students’ responses. The positive experiences of this week motivated me to continue improving and to approach the upcoming weeks with more confidence and enthusiasm.

Teaching practice second phase week 3

 Teaching Practice – Week 3 (24–28 November 2025) During the third week of my second phase of teaching practice at Government HSS Koickal, Kollam, I continued to handle the classes assigned to me with greater confidence and clarity. As the school is moving closer to the examination period, there has been a noticeable sense of seriousness among students. Teachers, including myself, are giving special emphasis to revision, concept reinforcement, and focused study. Students are also showing a sincere attitude towards learning, making the classroom environment more productive and goal-oriented. A significant highlight of this week was on Thursday, 27th November, when I had the opportunity to take a special NMMS scholarship coaching class from 3:30 pm to 4:20 pm. Teaching practice second phase last week (week 7)

 Week 7 (27 january to 29 january 2026) Introduction   The seventh week marked the final week of my second phase of teaching practice at Government HSS Koickal. On 26th January 2026, the school celebrated Republic Day with great respect and patriotism. However, it was not a working day for the students. The celebration reminded everyone of the importance of the Constitution and the values of democracy, unity, and equality. On 27th and 28th January 2026, regular classes were conducted. I engaged the students in my subject as per the lesson plan and completed the planned portions. The classes were interactive, and I tried to ensure maximum participation from students.
